The year 2017 marks the 50th anniversary of Expo 67, the 375th anniversary of the founding of Montreal and the 150th anniversary of the Canadian Confederation. In 2013, as part of its preparations for the anniversaries, the Société du parc Jean-Drapeau (SPJD) introduced a management and development plan for the western sector of St. Helen’s Island. In 2016, developments for each sector in the western point of the island were identified. They will require major arboricultural work (felling, lifting, transplanting and protecting established trees within the development perimeter).
The SPJD asked Groupe DDM to provide professional forestry engineering services for the development of three sectors of the Park, which will take place between May 2017 and October 2018. Groupe DDM’s input includes:
