Groupe DDM produced the vision statement for the Littoral-Est innovation zone of Quebec City. The study required the realization of a portrait of the sector, the analysis of the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats of the zone, the establishment of promising niches, a benchmarking process, the analysis of success factors and the elaboration of a strategic vision statement (on a 20-year horizon). The objective was to position Quebec City as a world-class innovation hub and, more specifically, the area as an inclusive and attractive place to live.
Interviews with key economic development and academic stakeholders in Quebec City helped to capture the essential elements for a successful innovation zone.
The outcome of this mandate for Quebec City will be major, as the vision statement represents the foundation for the development of the Littoral-Est zone for the next 20 years. The development of this sector is directly in line with the government's strategy (Projet Saint-Laurent) to provide Quebec with innovation zones.
